Flood Warning Still In Effect Sat 11th @ 11:25am & 3:25pm

North Bank Road alongside the River Nene, east of Peterborough and west of Dog-in-a-Doublet Sluice

Flooding is expected – immediate action required
Heavy rain over the last few days has caused river levels to rise on the River Nene. During periods of high tide the river will be unable to discharge into the sea, resulting in tide lock conditions. This is likely to lead to localised flooding at North Bank Road. Whilst the Flood Warning is in force, the Local Authority will close North Bank Road. Diversionary routes will be put in place and further updates will be available through local media.

Flooding is possible – be prepared
Over the last few days we have seen bands of heavy rainfall across the River Nene area. This has caused levels in the River Nene to rise, which has led to flooding of low lying land and roads close to the river. Further rainfall is expected overnight tonight, Saturday 11th January. We expect the river to remain high throughout the next few days. Our forecasts indicate that flooding to properties isn’t likely. We are constantly monitoring river levels, checking for blockages and clearing weedscreens. Please avoid using low lying footpaths and roads near rivers, which may be flooded. This message will be updated on Sunday 12th January or as the situation changes.
