B1040 Thorney to Whittlesey Road to the South of the River Nene
Flooding is expected – immediate action required
The Whittlesey Wash flood storage reservoir is being operated to protect nearby communities from flooding. The rising levels in the Wash resulted in the flooding of the B1040 road, which is likely to continue until at least Friday 3rd January. No further significant rainfall is forecast over the next few days. Whilst the Flood Warning is in force, the Local Authority may close the B1040 for safety reasons. Diversionary routes will be put in place and further updates will be available through local media.
