Flood Warning B1040 & North Bank Still in Effect Fri 27th @ 09:58am

The Whittlesey Wash flood storage reservoir is being operated to protect nearby communities from flooding. The rising levels in the Wash resulted in the flooding of the B1040 road, which is likely to continue until at least Saturday 28th December. No further significant rainfall is forecast over the weekend. Whilst the Flood Warning is in force, the Local Authority may close the B1040 for safety reasons. Diversionary routes will be put in place and further updates will be available through local media.

River levels remain high on the River Nene. High levels are likely to continue throughout Friday, December 27th. During periods of high tide the river will be unable to discharge into the sea, resulting in tide lock conditions. This is likely to lead to localised flooding at North Bank Road. Whilst the Flood Warning is in force, the Local Authority will close North Bank Road. Diversionary routes will be put in place and further updates will be available through local media.
