NQS PPG Meeting

A very well attended Patients Participation Group meeting (open to all at NQS), brought up to date on various subjects, concerns and somewhat lack of engagement since The Lakeside Group have taken over the New Queen Street Surgery (or amalgamated).
I did bring to the attention of the group, the recent news of ‘Boots Pharmacy’ introducing charges for delivering medication.

Although I street this is not within the remit of the PPG, I believe as individual members – they should be aware and informed of the plan.

After the PPG meeting, I did visit the Boots Pharmacy, and my impression was ‘they’ were very much in the dark and also had late notification on ‘Boots’ intentions….
I am expecting a call for the Manager when they return to work.

There is very little (other than changing Chemist/Pharmacy – see my previous posts) that be done. I will make my neighbours/constituents concerns known.

Q/ There are many elderly who are on a very basic state pension.
There are many elderly who are on pension credit.
What provision is there for those in Nursing Homes.
What provision is there for those, who have serious medical issues ie dementia or
similar.
